Our Safeguarding Team

  • The Grove Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and expects all staff, including volunteers, to share this commitment.
  • We have a comprehensive Child Protection Policy and safeguarding procedures in place. All staff, including supply staff, volunteers and governors, are required to be familiar with and follow these procedures.
  • Staff at The Grove Junior School receive regular training in safeguarding and child protection, in line with national regulations and guidance.
  • We actively provide opportunities for pupils to express their views and feelings. This is supported through PSHE lessons, the School Council, (Groverneers), and the accessibility of all staff, including senior leaders.
  • Our recruitment procedures are designed to support the safeguarding of children, as outlined in our Recruitment Policy and DBS Clearance procedures, in accordance with national guidance.
  • At times, we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will always aim to discuss these concerns with parents or carers first, unless doing so would be contrary to the child’s best interests.

Below are the key members of our safeguarding team:

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Miss Helen Bunce
