Behaviour
At The Grove Junior School, our staff and children work hard to set high expectations and show excellent behaviour, closely underpinned by the three Rs: Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.

Behaviour Curriculum
We have a behaviour curriculum, introduced in September 2025, that sets out exactly how children will behave in the classroom, around the school, in the dining hall and on the playground.
Behaviour Curriculum Overview
The curriculum aims to embed outstanding behaviour across all aspects of school life. It is:
- Explicitly taught at the start of each term and revisited regularly.
- Modelled by all staff, who also reward positive behaviour.
- Integrated with British Values, SMSC, PSHE, and emotional regulation.
Behaviour is taught through:
- Identifying expectations
- Teaching and modelling
- Practising and rewarding
- Creating optimal conditions for success
Behaviour Policy
Our Behaviour Code of Conduct also sets out rules and expectations for all to follow.
Pupils demonstrating prosocial behaviour may receive:
- Verbal praise
- Headteacher’s awards
- House points and termly treats
- Raffle tickets
- Cooks’ award for manners
- Positive communication with parents/carers
Stages
If the code of conduct is not being followed, we use Stages to give clear consequences. It is a system created by staff and pupils with pupils at the centre.
