School Values
Our Core Values: Respect, Responsibility, Resilience
At The Grove Junior School, our community is built on three guiding principles: Respect, Responsibility, and Resilience known as The Three Rs. These values shape not only how we learn, but how we grow as individuals.

Our pupils are encouraged to live out The Three Rs every day.
We believe Resilience means more than bouncing back; it’s about courage, resourcefulness, and self-discipline. These qualities are nurtured in every corner of school life: in lessons, assemblies, enrichment clubs, and even during play.
Responsibility is a cornerstone of child development here at The Grove Junior School, helping children grow into thoughtful, dependable individuals, through honesty, reflection and decisiveness. We encourage children to take ownership of tasks (e.g. tidying up after activities, completing homework on time) and they learn the importance of being accountable for their actions.
Our school teaches the value of Respect throughout the years, shaping how children interact with others and building a positive learning environment, through cooperation, communication and empathy. When pupils learn to listen to their teachers, treat classmates kindly, and appreciate differences, they create a culture of inclusion and safety.
“Resilience helps me keep going even when something feels tricky. I’ve learned that mistakes are part of learning.” — Year 5 pupil
“We don’t just talk about values - we model them. The Three Rs are part of our language, our expectations and our celebrations.” — Grove Junior School teacher
Our goal is to ensure that children leave The Grove not only with strong academic foundations, but with the character and confidence to thrive in their next chapter. The Three Rs are more than school values—they’re life values.
