Houses

Every child and member of staff is assigned a house when they start at The Grove Junior School. Siblings go into the same house. Houses help to build collaborative skills in all lessons, particularly PE. The houses are named after planets: Jupiter, Neptune, Saturn, Mercury.

Children are given house points as a reward for showing the three Rs. These points are collected by Y6s every week and the winning house is announced in Celebration Assembly every Friday. The house with the most points at the end of a term wins a house treat such as watching a film or extra playtime.
